Well friends, we have not made the countdown this week, which actually (in a weird way) is not surprising. We voted our hearts out, and had little to show for it (except maybe tired fingers).
BUT, we definitely made some ground. We showed the VH1 vote-counters that we are here to stay, and we wont stop until Switchfoot is back on their channel!
So with that, who's with us for next week?? Are you willing to go it again and vote 100+ times a day for Switchfoot? If you are, give a little comment love!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Awakening Month is over, and I think personally, that it was a success. Although we haven't gotten on the countdown or achieved radio hit status yet, we did keep "Awakening" at No. 1 on the Guilty Pleasures Chart on FUSE TV!
Also, we have kept "Awakening" at No. 1 on RELEVANT TV's Top 10 chart and revived the all-time chart status of "Awakening" on Youtube! We are back on the All-Time Most Linked list! Well done fellow Footsoldiers!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought this live video of "Awakening" was way cool. Jon showing up out of nowhere to sing the "AHHAHHH AHHH AHHH" part?!? Priceless. Amazing. Inspiring. So peace out! Thanks for voting and supporting out guys!

Switchfoot Sighting; And a word of caution...?
Check out this tight Awakening/Switchfoot sighting at a boba tea house I was just at:
It kinda looks like the clock at Buster's house, doesn't it? Maybe...?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, a word of caution. The way music video stations work, wildcards or fill-ins don't exactly have an advantage in the voting process. If we don’t make it onto the countdown this week, don’t be discouraged. Our flooding will definitely turn heads at VH1 brass. The focus is to get this onto Vh1, the channel, first. And the only way we can do that right now is to flood the wildcard option until they add “Awakening” to their database. Once that happens, the video will start getting rotation on the channel, then it will be added to the countdown voting list. And once that happens, we can definitely turn “Awakening” into a hit!
So let us trudge on brothers and sisters... haha. It'll be great once we can finally sit back and enjoy success for "Awakening" dontcha all agree?
So who's with me? Who agrees to not get discouraged??? haha

Tips on How to Survive 100 4 SF...
...or at least to make it easier...? haha. Becca, one of our fellow footsoldiers, sent in some tips she came up with to keep the voting spirit at a high! Here's what she had to say:
1. Make VH1 your homepage. Think about voting 5-10 times before going to the next site you were going to visit (like myspace, email, etc.)
2. Set a couple times a day to sit down and do x number of votes. For instance, you could say that you'll get on at 2PM to vote 30 times, 5PM to vote another 30 times, then at 7PM and 9PM you could vote 30 more times. Spreading it out will make the whole experience easier.
3. Listen to switchfoot while voting. In my opinion, they're quite
motivating. :)
4. Keep a count of votes that you've submitted. Do you know that little time after you click "submit" where it says "processing vote"? that's the
perfect few seconds to put a little dot on a piece of paper to show that you
submitted a vote. Not only does it keep track of how many votes you've submitted, but it'll make you feel good to look back at it at the end of the day and see how much you've committed to switchfoot.
those are just a few things. If you feel like posting them feel free
and
simplify them. I kinda went on and on.
Great tips Becca! Thanks!

Let the FLOODING begin!!
Hey friends! This is Job! And, contrary to popular belief, I am still alive and well (albeit a little sleepy and weary from my past week). I'm amped to get this 100 4 SF campaign started. I think Chris deserves a hand for the awesome work he did over the past week. Anyone agree???
Well, today marks the official start of the 100 4 SF campaign. Lets support each other throughout the week. Comment here if you want to brag about how many votes you've logged so far, or whatever the heck you wanna say. I'll be around, voting as the day goes along. Lets get Switchfoot onto VH1! (oh, and make sure you tell every other Switchfoot fan you know to help out and vote for the guys!)
MAKE SURE TO VOTE ON FUSE TOO! ^^

DOWNLOAD Awakening VIDEO!
Yup! Remember when “Awakening” was on FUSE TV’s Oven Fresh? Well, I have a tv rip here of the video when it was featured everyday for a week on FUSE’s popular music show that features “oven fresh” new music! This mpeg video file comes courtesy of Videopimp.org! Enjoy!
DOWNLOAD IT HERE
Please, don't hesitate to spread this video around! It'll make a nice addition to anyone's music video collection.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And, in other site news, we have a new emailing subscription service! Now, as soon as we post a new update, you will be able to see it in your email inbox. Hopefully we can brighten up your email checking, along with your awesome LOBH and Switchfeed subscriptions, eh? Go to the right sidebar and sign-up today!
And make sure to continue to spread the word about “Awakening!” And keep voting like crazy on VH1 and FUSE! Who knows? We might someday get onto the Vh1 countdown… and maybe we’ll be able to keep the video at No. 1 on FUSE for the rest of the year??
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This may be my last post for this week. Next week, I will be gone on a mission trip, and my good buddy Chris, another Switchblogger, will be filling in for updates. His passion for the single makes him a great fit for We’re Awakening. He has a few suggestions up his sleeve, so definitely stay tuned. Thanks Chris!

Add us on Myspace!
Hello. We recently got a myspace account. Add us if you'd like. There's not much on there yet, but it's cool nowadays to be friends on myspace... hehe. Anyways, here's the link:
We're Awakening Myspace
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris and I have something up our sleeves. Stay tuned.
Keep voting! (I've voted about 20 times today on VH1, and am hoping to hit 50 before the night is over.)
BTW, the Youtube video is back up to 73rd most linked of all time. Excellent job fams!!!! Lets keep linking to it and spreading the word.
-Oh, and "Awakening" has reached No. 1 on RELEVANT.tv once again! THANKS FOR VOTING! Now, lets keep it up there!
-"Awakening" is completely off the Top 10 on TVU LIVE! Let's get it back up there!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
is nearing the halfway mark.
Lets reach our goals (or at least get close)

Updated Voting Links
Hey friends. I've updated the voting links in the sidebar to have the relevant.tv player in there. We're doing well on the charts there. Keep voting!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In other news, we'll be holding off on the petition thing for now. I was reminded by Phil that the guys emphasized a grassroots effor for "Awakening." I have been a bit unfair in my conclusions that Columbia is snubbing Switchfoot. Maybe it's what the guys wanted! Maybe its another effort to involve us, the fans, the "other part of the equation." I remember commenting on the Youtube video about how cool it was that the guys were making it a grassroots effort. I'll try to remember it from this point on.
So lets continue to vote and flood the polls, and spread and plug the video on our blogs, Myspaces, and facebook accounts--the grassroots way. Thanks Phil! Awakening month is about halfway through... Lets try to accomplish our goals!! Lets do this!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I also apologize in advance for lack of postage in the coming week. My computer is having a midlife crisis, and its in the repair shop... so... if I don't post, you'll know why. Thanks again, friends!

A Petition to COLUMBIA RECORDS: A Rough Draft/Proposal
I was thinking earlier about the impact of petitions, and its pretty large! So I thought, maybe we could create an online petition to Columbia Records and maybe ratchet up a little bit of support for Switchfoot. So here is a rough draft (so if there's punctuation errors, sorry! haha). Please please please let me know what you think! We need input! I'm going to post about this idea on the official boards tommorrow or something.
We the people of Switchfoot Nation, the Switchfoot family of fans, enthusiasts, and friends, and all general music officionados alike, in order to promote more positive, and just all-around great music, do sign here this petition to Sony BMG/Columbia Records. We would like to demand more support for your client, the rock band Switchfoot.
Plank 1. Track Record
Proof: This band has already achieved major success in the past. "The Beautiful Letdown" went double-platinum, under the watchful eye of no less than Columbia Records! The singles from that record, "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move" both were monster hits on radio, and MTV, VH1, etc., achieving Top 10 radio status.
The subsequent record, "Nothing Is Sound" peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 album charts and went gold despite controversial XCP Protection and rootkit/spyware contamination implemented into the discs by Columbia Records.
This is all proof that Switchfoot has what it takes to produce hit music, and deserves recognition and support from the label.
Plank 2. Lack of support for the single "Awakening" on public radio.
Proof: So far, there has been no sign of support at all from the label for the song "Awakening," reportedly released March 26, 2007. Only two radio stations in the Hot AC Radio Format have played the song significantly.
Plank 3. Despite success and popularity of the music video on Youtube and FUSE TV, "Awakening" has received little backing otherwise.
Despite the video retaining the No. 1 Spot on FUSE TV's No. 1 Countdown for almost an entire month, and reaching a million+ views, the aforementioned label has turned a figurative cold shoulder to it al.
We understand that the music industry is a highly competitive business, but also understand the importance of contractural integrity. You obviously signed this band to a contract, and a label's job is to promote a band.
We don't wish for Sony BMG/Columbia to allocate all its resources toward this single, or this band. We believe the music itself is strong enough. A little, minute bit of support would definitely go a long way in promoting this single, however, and we humbly petition you, Sony BMG/Columbia, to grant a little support, just a little, to this great band, Switchfoot.
So wadaya all think?

New Voting Link!
Awakening is currently No. 8 on Relevant.tv's most requested. If we all vote, we can
easily get it to No. 1 on what is one of my favorite online video sources. Lets do it!
(Thanks LOBH for the heads up!)
Launch Relevant.tv player Go check out their podcast on itunes as well. Its hilarious and entertaining, and I was hooked after listening to one episode.
Remember to keep voting on VH1 and FUSE also for the video! The song is freefalling on the radio charts, but video success will all but guarantee radio success!
edit (9:43 P.M.): Dang! The video's already at No. 1 on Relevant! Great job everyone! Lets keep it there!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
In other news, the "Awakening" video has experienced a revival as far as linkage goes.
Just a week or two ago, it was completely off the charts. It is now No. 79, and steadily rising. Great job guys!!! Lets try to get the video to 1,500,000 views by the end of "Awakening Month!"

VH1 Coutdown News; Feedback to Sony?; and site news...
Well guys, I have to admit. This is a lot harder than I thought! The results for this week's Coutdown on VH1 are in, and guess what? No Switchfoot. We're gonna have to buckle down and flood the voting polls. Don't vote for anything else; only Switchfoot in the No. 1 box, and that's it. Unless of course... the voting is rigged by VH1?? Well, we'll have to keep voting anyways.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I have another suggestion, if anyone cares to listen. If you haven't already, why don't
you try sending feedback to Sony about their lack of support for "Awakening." Lets gently ask them to help start promoting "Awakening" across the radio and tv airwaves. I've done it once, and I might do it one more time. So,here's the link.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Now, for some site news:
I updated the sidebar today, and now you can quickly reach the voting sites from We're Awakening. (note, there's two different FUSE voting things. One is the full ballot, the other is the Guilty Pleasures only voting ballot. We can get two quick votes if we use both!). I plan to have another list on the sidebar that has all the links to all the different videos "Awakening" is on (AOL, Yahoo!, MTV.com, VH1.com... etc.), so we can push the video up all the charts!
Thanks, that's all for now. remember to keep viewing the video on Youtube, AOL, Yahoo!, etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------
hehe... I couldn't resist slipping this in again...
P.s. Look what I found!
P.S. 2 Look what I found, part 2! I bet you all will be able to figure out why I posted it... ;)

Yahoo! Music Spotlight
Yahoo! Music Spotlight
Well Switchfams, we're progressing well so far for "Awakening Month." Keep the views coming for the Youtube video, and lets get the AOL video some more exposure, shall we?
The next outlet I'd like to spotlight is Yahoo! Music. Remember when the Oh! Gravity. video first premiered there? Obviously Yahoo! music is important to us, and "Awakening" hasn't been noticed on there too much (just like everywhere else it seems...). But now, lets give the video a little push on Yahoo! Like I said before, labels are looking more and more at Yahoo! music, AOL video, and Youtube to see what's "hot" in the music industry today. So view the Yahoo! video at least once a day, along with AOL, and Youtube.
If all of us did that, we could give "Awakening" even more exposure!
Here's the link!
And don't forget to keep voting on FUSE and VH1! These places are critical! (If Switchfoot does well on these two, what's stopping MTV, IMF, and Music Choice from adding the video to their rotations? Can you say, mega-hit??) Success on the TV front will definitely pave the way for radio airplay!
Thanks! Peace to all!
P.s. Look what I found!
P.S. 2 Look what I found, part 2! I bet you all will be able to figure out why I posted it... ;)

AOL Spotlight
Now that the Youtube video has reached a million views, lets turn our attention to AOL. This site is an integral part of promoting a band. Record labels check out all the popular video outlets to see what's popular, and AOL is one of those sites. So lets lend our support to the video on AOL. But that doesn't mean we should stop watching the Youtube video. Remember, we're trying to reach a million and a half views by the end of "Awakening Month."

Announcing... "Awakenining Month"

By popular consent, we, the faithful viewers of the Youtube video for "Awakening" have agreed that July should be "Awakening Month." And as such, I have compiled a few goals, which hopefully we can achieve during the month of July. Any other suggestions guys?
Goals:
1. Get to at least 1,500,000 views on Youtube.
2. Get "Awakening" on VH1's Top 20 Coutdown
3. Keep "Awakening" at No. 1 on Fuse TV's Guilty Pleasures Charts for the whole month...? Is that possible? I think it is!
4. Radio hit!
Ways to get there
1. View "Awakening" on Youtube at least ten times a day, preferrably via linkage (switchfoot.com/awakening, here, and on Switchfoot's Myspace, on your own myspace, facebook, xanga, etc...) make sure you rate and comment it everyday too!
2. Vote for "Awakening" on VH1's Top 20 Countdown at least ten times a day. (we can do it way more than that if we can!)
3. Vote for "Awakening" on Fuse TV's No. 1 Countdown at least ten times a day (or as often as it lets you)
4. Another thing is to View "Awakening" on Yahoo!, AOL, MTV.com, VH1.com at least once a day each. Those are other very important video sites that radio stations and record labels look at to find out "what's hot" in music.
5. Pray...? hahahaha.
We will check off our goals as they happen in the month of July. Well, those are my ideas. Any suggestions? I'll add it to the list...! Lets help Switchfoot regain that popularity that has been lost! It's only what the guys deserve!
July is "Awakening Month!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VIDEO CHARTS
Youtube: -Keep viewing! As of 2:31 PM (PDT) today, the video has logged over 993,469 views! Lets get it to a million by Friday! I'm sure we can do it! Make sure you Rate and comment and view it every single day!
- It's completely vanished from the All-Time most linked list. Aside from coming here, go to www.switchfoot.com/awakening to help revive the linking and push "Awakening" back up the all-time charts. Also, make sure you embed the video everywhere you can: myspace, facebook, xanga, blogger, everywhere. Clicking on it on your own site will help add to the views!
FUSE: Still holding fast at No. 1! Click here to keep "Awakening" in the top spot where it belongs! You can vote multiple times, so try to vote as much as possible!
MTV: Email in to MTV. Click here to send in your feedback and request them to add "Awakening" to TRL and their TV database. Comment on there. That's about the only thing we can do right now.
VH1: Click here to wildcard vote "Awakening" into the Top 20. If we focus our efforts, we can do it! It didn't make it this past week, but if we keep voting, it will get there! Has everyone been voting?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RADIO CHARTS
Hot AC: +3 spins, holding steady at No. 58 on the chart.
Top 40: Hasn't shown up yet.
Alternative: has been released, but no one has played it yet.
Active Rock: Hasn't shown up yet.
